In its judgement 30th March 2016 Supreme Court has issued directions to all states regarding Good Samaritan Guidelines making the procedure simple and encouraging for those who wished to help the accident victims. IRSF found that these
guidelines needs to be highlighted and public awareness about the same is required. IRSF has built up an advocacy to ensure the execution of the Good Samaritan Law through the Home and Police department. As a member of the important
committees, IRSF made consistent representations to the High Power Committee and State Road Safety Council Maharashtra to generate awareness about the Guidelines.
Guidelines:
- It is age specific : 8th to 12th standard and College Students.
- Is interactive at all levels with specific information, videos, Q & A sessions, quiz & games.
- Made by road safety experts , educationists, Traffic Police and IRSF Team.
- Can be customized as per the specific area requirments.
- Is research and data supported.
- IRSF has been recognized for their excellent work in the field of road safety by various institutions and government authorities.
IRSF has taken up an advocacy to create a system of educational institutes taking ownership for responsible driving by their students. The focus of the advocacy is on all major educational institutes. This includes ensuring use of
helmet, seat belts, no drunk driving, no mobile while driving and no overspeeding etc.
